A Legacy of Tradition.

Where Hindustani Classical Music Meets Contemporary Expression.

Manoj Govindraj

For over three decades, Manoj Govindraj has dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the timeless tradition of Hindustani Classical Music.
Having trained under distinguished gurus including Pandit Prabhakar Karekar, Pandit Ramesh Prem, Mrs Vineeta Tembe and Mrs Geeta Prem, his musical philosophy blends rigorous classical training with expressive storytelling.
Following his move to the United States in 2004, he spent over a decade teaching Hindustani Classical Music at the Academy of Indian Music in New Jersey before establishing Swarras School of Music. Today, he continues to mentor students across India and abroad in Hindustani vocal music, light classical genres, devotional music, and harmonium.

His teaching philosophy is simple: “Music is not merely learnt. It is lived.”

Our Story

Preserving Heritage.
Inspiring Generations.

Founded on 21 January 2015, Swarras School of Music was created with a singular vision, to help students experience the true essence, or rasa, of Indian classical music.

Rather than focusing solely on performance, the school nurtures complete musicians by developing technique, listening skills, emotional depth, discipline, and confidence.

Through carefully structured Hindustani vocal lessons and harmonium classes, students gradually build a lifelong relationship with music that extends beyond the classroom.
